it is what it is

i guess i was never the sort who would work on blog posts on where i've been to with pictures, except for the cambodia trip that bffs and i went on in '08... then again i didn't finish posting about it, so i guess i shall just not conform to what other girls would do.

Day 1
but i have decided to talk about the boston trip. i guess being in a city kinda makes me sian, so  i wasn't exactly really enthusiastic when i was there, plus the flight left us all really drained, although i must say that thanks to lawrence, i got upgraded to first class for both flights there! haha, even for the short 30 minute flight (: i am just really sick of cities... right now i just wanna retreat and just admire scenery and nature. that's why i was really looking forward to the falls (: i bet it would be such a magnificent sight to behold.

the company on the other hand was good (: i really enjoyed jo and lawrence's company during the trip. somehow i can never fully appreciate history (especially American history... since i'm such an apathetic person), so being on the Boston Freedom Trail was pretty boring for me... i can't imagine actually following the trail all round the city- you have to constantly follow a line and it remains marked on the crossings as well... imagine getting into a road accident hahahaha! the architecture's really nice though (:

the seafood was naaaaaaaeeeyhhh alright... i don't know why i just can't appreciate lobsters :S i love oysters more.

the lifehouse concert was GOOOOOOOOOOD!!! jason wade was so good live hahahaha (: (: loveeee - check out the videos i uploaded on facebook. however they don't really do it justice. by then we were so dead beat we were talking complete nonsense by the time the concert ended (Daughtry was the last act... omg they were so....)

Day 2
we went for brunch at skipjack's and it was sooooooo awesome! :D the eggs ben had like seafood in it and wow it was really worth my $$$.

oh and early in the morning lawrence left us for his friend in NYC *sulks* so jo and i went to Cambridge, just across the river to see Harvard and MIT. i must say that the Harvard campus is soooooooooooooooo beautiful! i guess old schools just have really nice architecture (however this does not hold anywhere outside Europe and USA). MIT was neyyyyhhhh passable... the dome was probably the best and most outstanding part of it. they had really weird artsy fartsy buildings, maybe because they have an architecture faculty there.

we had mike's pastry too, no queue, and IMHO it sucked (maybe because it was just so overrated)... thank God there was no queue.

we than proceeded to the hotel room to watch TV (i'm such a nua shit... that's my idea of relaxation really) for like the longest time ever and we then realised that there was no time to actually eat since everything else was closed but we managed to find an american diner on newsbury st (some nice place to walk apparently) and the food sucked except the clam chowder.

verdict: boston's seafood is not as great as it sounds. and my favourite cities in America so far are: San Francisco (better architecture, more scenic and nicer seafood) and Las Vegas. so sorry even NYC doesn't make it on the list. hahahahaha. ok maybe it does la, but i say i would still prefer San Fran and LA more. i'd say west coast trumps the east. besides there's really nothing much to do in Boston and NYC apart from eating and doing some sightseeing. like i can't think of what to do there unless you really are interested in American history? i mean unless you are studying or working in Boston or NYC there is really not much of a point going down there. i'm done with those places.

and on a sidenote, i'm heading to DC this friday for the cherry blossom festival. gonna bathe and chiong homework now.

p/s: i just burnt a big brown HOLE in my thermals. damn sad la, plus they're white (then again they're thermals right?). THEY ARE CASHMERE THERMALS. ok so now i got that off my chest. £@!*£^)!@^£^@£)!^@30. i hate dryers and my laundry luck- i simply have no luck with washing machines, irons and dryers.
