We just got back from Bangkok this morn about 1 am. Mummy is off to work since 8.30am .
It was quite a surprise to see Bangkok city change so drastically. The shopping malls are gigantic and all linked by huge walkways built under the MRT track. The walkways are flooded with people especially during the weekends and late afternoons. There are quite a few malls bigger than Ngee Ann City and they are very modern - like Paragon and Suntec in Spore. Its common for their malls to be 6-7 storey high.
Food is everywhere- the malls have gigantic food courts and lots of restaurants. They even have very modern high end supermarkets in the Malls just like our Jasons supermarket but much larger in scale and range of food stuff.
The massages there are very cheap and very good. A full body massage will cost only S$9 for one hour so it will not surprise you that we had a massage almost everyday. Taxi is also very cheap - about S$6 per trip if you go far about 1 hr drive but only about S$3 if near by.
We just walked around, shopped a little , try all the various foods, relaxed with coffee, tea and just take it easy for the few days there. Mummy was quite happy to be away from her work ( all that stress ) and she was especially happy to hear from you and your sister about just what was happening with the two of you and looking at the pictures you sent her.
It does not take much to make her happy- I can see how happy she really becomes when you write her. Just her blackberry , a cup of tea will keep her happy for a long time reading and looking at the pictures you send her. I guess its how we parents feel knowing that our children are happy.
