bid points.
-_-" *loser music plays on loop in the background*
I managed to get all the modules i bidded for this round, but at cut-throat prices. GAAAAH. i abso-freaking-lutely dislike the bidding system, NUS, and the lack of pre-allocated major modules. While i know versatility and independence is pretty important in university, i think we also need a certain degree of stability man. I need to know that somehow, even if i screw up bidding badly, I'd still have *FREE* modules to fall back on which are of my major. I don't want to take Philosophy or Political Science exposures because i am left with no choice. Until now i refuse to believe that proper planning of modules = smart bidding = a lot of points carried forward to next semester.
On another random note, i've a pet peeve (which crept up last semester). I hate telling people what modules i'm doing during small talk sessions. it's not like the other party is remotely interested in your academic pursuit but somehow almost EVERY NON-FASS PERSON LOVES TO ASK WHAT MODULES EVERY OTHER PERSON (which are most often acquaintances- the people who really care are spared from this) IS TAKING FOR THE SEMESTER. would my modules really affect your life? NO, so why ask? I hate having to repeat modules to everyone and instead of listing them out one by one i have the biggest, fattest urge to go: "Will you even remember what i'm saying? because i certainly do want to waste my breath telling you Module codes and their precise names, background info and its cost because you DEFINITELY give a damn. So would you mind telling me what happened to your mother at work? Because i really give a damn. oh trust me i really do, i actually tape record the conversation so i can replay it whenever you cross my mind. which is every single second and minute of my life."
So here goes, to every soul out there who would potentially ask me what i am taking this semester but would probably not once they see what i'm going to take for the next 4 months:
EC2101 - Microeconomics analysis I (569 points)
EC2102- Macroeconomic analysis I (89 points)
SC1101E - Making Sense of Society (1 pt)
SSA1201 - Singapore Society (600 points)
****** and i don't know what the last module is. okay??? BECAUSE I HAVEN'T STARTED BIDDING FOR IT YET AND NO MY SCHOOL ONLY STARTS NEXT WEEK yes that's coz this is NUS and its different from SMU and NTU, so stop asking thank you.
- on another (and i swear it's the last another) note, i managed to find those damn pair of gold wedges from "bugis street" after torturously ploughing through and fending off nasty aunties, badly sunburnt tourists, RATS and fat blobs who insist on standing still in a moving crowd to find that it wasn't in bugis street itself. we practically searched every nook and cranny in that place till our eyes popped. it was an adventure indeed. After beatrice called to tell me its whereabouts about 2hrs and 4 purchases later, we reached a road we had to cross and along came a vagrant-looking man on a screechy bike that missed us by a millimeter i swear. apparently he had rolled over Daryl's foot and i screeched rather embarrassingly. Daryl doesn't have blood me thinks. i think i would have been spewing fountains of blood hahahhaa if it were me.
by the time i found those damn wedges the salesperson told me gold no longer has my ideal size 39 or 38, my desperate size. oh so i walk around emoing and telling myself brown's just as nice, and i got back and asked for a 38 when i found out that heyyyyy they no longer have brown38, "will 38 for gold do?"
you should have seen the look on my face. classic.
